Calling for a National Ban on Asbestos

Asbestos is killing Canadian workers - asbestos is the leading cause of workplace-related death in Canada. It’s estimated that more than 2,000 people die every year from diseases caused by asbestos exposure, like mesothelioma and lung cancer. Death from mesothelioma increased 60 percent between 2000 and 2012.

Bill 7 will make it even harder for everyday Manitobans to join a union

For many years, Manitoba has avoided major labour unrest or job actions.

The Pallister government’s changes to the union certification rules are fixing a problem that just doesn’t exist, and only makes it harder for everyday Manitobans to join a union.
