Vale Inco Faces 10 Charges In 2011 Mine Fatality

Word today that Vale Canada faces 10 charges under the Manitoba Workplaces Safety and Health Act in connection with the 2011 death of Steelworker, 51 year old Greg Leason.  Leason was working alone when his scoop-tram, an ore loading machine, fell down an ore chute to a lower level, killing the 23 year Inco employee, on October 7, 2011. The long-time member of USW Local 6166 was the father of two children.  Link to the Winnipeg Free Press story here
