The Manitoba Federation of Labour advocates for progressive laws and policies that will benefit working families in our province. That means standing up on behalf of workers to defend their rights and pushing governments to do more to support good jobs, fair treatment, and safer workplaces. WCB support for mental health injuries
Work shouldn’t hurt your body or your mind. But WCB doesn’t support workers recovering from mental health injuries the same way it does for physical injuries. This means workers are suffering mental health injuries on the job but falling through the cracks of WCB support.
Fix the Staffing Crisis
We all count on vital public services and the workers who deliver them. But the deep cuts made by Brian Pallister and Heather Stefanson have us all feeling squeezed, with longer wait times and less access to the public services we depend on. Manitoba desperately needs more staff to strengthen the public services we all need.
Paid Sick Days
People shouldn’t be forced to choose between working sick or struggling to pay the bills — not in pandemic, not ever. It’s wrong to force workers into the impossible choice between putting food on the table and staying home to protect public health when they get sick. It’s time for paid sick days for every worker.
