Manitoba’s NDP government is making it easier than ever for workers to join a union. Bill 37 will establish a process for single step, simple-majority union certification (commonly known as 50% plus 1 card check). This is a huge victory, and something that we have been fighting for over many decades!

Once Bill 37 passes into law (expected this November), workers will be able to organize a union in their workplace when a simple majority of them sign a union application card, doing away with the current burdensome two-step process meant to frustrate workers and allow for employer interference.
