December 19, 2012

On December 5, the Manitoba Federation of Labour hosted more than 100 children from two inner city schools for the annual Labour Christmas Tree. The annual event provides kids with a fun party featuring live children’s entertainers, yummy treats, a visit from Santa and gifts.

This year’s event invited children from Nijimahkwa School and Pinkham School.

Santa presented each child received a new winter jacket, mitts and a toque. After food, drinks and dessert, the children received ‘goody bags’ to take home with them.

Fabulous entertainment was provided by Laughter Without Borders, who offered face painting, juggling, comedy, singing, crazy balloons and clowns.

Plenty of volunteers from Manitoba’s labour unions were on hand to keep the fun rolling along.
