This year, our joint labour organizing committee of the Canadian Labour Congress, the Manitoba Federation of Labour and the Winnipeg Labour Council are pleased to be raising funds in support of the North Point Douglas Resource Centre, a community hub dedicated to meeting the unique needs of women and enhancing their social, economic and environmental conditions. Please consider bringing donations of food, toiletries (shampoo, toothbrushes/paste), menstrual products or winter clothing (hats, mittens, winter jackets) to bolster the centre’s resources.
International Women’s Day has been celebrated for over a hundred years and belongs to all those who care about women’s equality and gender equity. Unions will always have an important role to play in fighting for gender equity, so let’s come together to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about gender discrimination and commit to accelerating action to advance women’s rights and gender equity.
A gender equal world is possible!
