MGEU members and staff are hitting the road in Manitoba on the Fairness Express to talk about income inequality and tax fairness.
Please join us on August 6th, 2014 at noon at the Manitoba Legislature for Fairness Day, featuring national and local activists like Hassan Yussuff, President of the Canadian Labour Congress; Kevin Rebeck, President of the Manitoba Federation of Labour; and MGEU President Michelle Gawronsky. It’s time to address income inequality, so that everyone gets to share the economic pie!
Watch this page to learn more and to find out where the bus will be as they tour the province this summer. The big green bus tour will be stopping in dozens of Manitoba communities between June 26 and August 11. Stay tuned and check it out when the tour rolls into your community!
What is the Fariness Express?
The Fairness Express is a grassroots campaign spearheaded by the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) that is travelling across the country. The object of the campaign is to foster local discussions about growing income inequality and build a movement of people who are interested in protecting and promoting the core value of fairness for all Canadians. The tour has already been through Atlantic Canada and Ontario, as it takes its message further west following its Manitoba swing.
