Manitoba Worker Killed on the Job

July 26, 2012

On Tuesday, July 24, 2012, Leon Houle, a 33 year old married father of three young children, was crushed by a large chunk of concrete while repairing a cistern with another worker in the basement of a home in the RM of Saskatchewan.

While working on the cistern, the cement wall gave way, trapping Houle under the concrete. Spruce Plains RCMP and Minnedosa firefighters responded, inflating an airbag to move the concrete, but Houle was pronounced dead at the scene.
