Work shouldn’t hurt your body or your mind.

But in Manitoba, Workers Compensation doesn’t cover all mental health injuries the same way it covers workers who suffer physical injuries. That’s not fair.

While the staff of the Workers Compensation Board (members of CUPE Local 1063) work hard to provide the best support they can to injured workers, current provincial legislation and WCB policies exclude many mental health injuries from WCB coverage, preventing workers from getting the support they need to recover and return to work safely.

The WCB’s own data makes it clear that workers who suffer mental health injuries like burnout are falling through the cracks.

The MFL is calling for a change to provincial legislation to make sure WCB provides the same support to all workplace injuries.

Let’s make WCB support for mental health injuries the law.

FAIRNESS FOR EVERYONE
