MFL Supports Child Care Campaign

November 12, 2013

The Manitoba Federation of Labour supports the joint action by the Manitoba Child Care Association and the Child Care Coalition of Manitoba to convince the government to establish a Commission on Early Learning Child Care.  Currently the government of Manitoba is conducting two public consultations – Manitoba’s Child Care Consultation and the Starting Strong Starting Early consultation on early childhood development.

The two organizations and their allies, including the MFL, want the government to establish a process for transforming Manitoba’s child care system.  They say:

“We are looking for a wide range of groups and individuals to sign-on to our recommendation that Manitoba establish a Commission on Early Learning and Child Care for Manitoba, with the mandate and resources to develop and propose a multi-year plan for early learning and child care.”

If you or your organization can add weight to this campaign, contact Susan Prentice, Childcare Coalition of Manitoba.
