Outgoing Labour Council President Honoured

The MFL Executive Council Meeting held on December 13 and 14 will the last Larry Pelzer will attend as the Winnipeg Area Representative on the Council. He stepped down from that position as part of his decision to retire as president of the Winnipeg Labour Council effective December 31, 2010.

At his final Executive Council meeting, Brother Pelzer was presented with a plaque in thanks for his long service. The inscription on the plaque reads as follows.

In recognition of your many years of service to the working people of Manitoba through your effective representation on the Manitoba Federation of Labour Executive Council as Chair of the Workers of Colour Caucus, Winnipeg Labour Council Representative and Winnipeg Area Representative.
Your tireless efforts as an effective labour leader, a “behind-the-scenes” organizer in support of work being spearheaded by others and your important community-based charitable activities have made working families stronger and able to live in a better community.
We owe you our thanks and gratitude.
