The Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB) has announced that it plans to open a new location in Brandon in early 2012. The office will service workers and employers located in Brandon and surrounding areas.
The Brandon office will provide provide initial adjudication of claims and case management functions. It will also offer a range of services such healthcare examinations, vocational rehabilitation and SAFE Work services as well as limited assessment services. Currently, people must travel to Winnipeg for these services, or Winnipeg staff is required to travel to Brandon.
The WCB is developing a comprehensive transition plan to minimize disruption to its stakeholders during the transition period. The WCB currently has two offices in Manitoba, a head office in Winnipeg and a small satellite office in Thompson that provides initial adjudication of claims and case management services.
